Mechanism

Inhibits mutant IDH2 proteins to decrease 2-hydroxyglutarate (2-HG) levels and restore normal myeloid cell differentiation.

Approved Indication

Treatment of adult patients with relapsed or refractory acute myeloid leukemia (AML) with an isocitrate dehydrogenase-2 (IDH2) mutation as detected by an FDA-approved test.

What This Means For Patients

Idhifa (enasidenib) is a small-molecule targeted therapy indicated for relapsed or refractory acute myeloid leukemia (AML) harboring IDH2 mutations. It functions by allowing immature leukemia cells to differentiate into mature functional cells. It is available under the special-import policy in the Hainan Boao Lecheng pilot zone.
