Histone deacetylase inhibitor

Mechanism

Inhibits Class I and II HDACs, inducing histone accumulation of acetyl groups to cause chromatin remodeling and tumor cell apoptosis.

Approved Indication

Treatment of cutaneous manifestations of cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL) in patients with progressive, persistent or recurrent disease on or following two systemic therapies.

What This Means For Patients

Zolinza (vorinostat) is an oral epigenetic modifier that acts as an HDAC inhibitor for cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL). It helps control and reverse the skin lesions caused by CTCL in advanced cases. It is available under the special-import policy in the Hainan Boao Lecheng pilot zone.
